     This is a remarkable time to be a biologist. The 21st century will arguably be remembered as the “Century of Biology.” Boundless frontiers in such areas as genetics, cell, developmental and molecular biology, neurobiology and cognitive science, stem cell research, bioinformatics, biomaterials, environmental science and ecology, and evolution hold great promise for changing our lives in extraordinary ways. Rutgers, as a major research university in New Jersey, is firmly positioned as one of the key contributors to the shaping of the “Century of Biology.” We confidently believe that the undergraduate biology student at Rutgers will not only be a beneficiary of this exciting environment but also a potential contributor to it. **IMPORTANT SUMMER SESSION REGISTRATION INFORMATION:  Registration for Gen Bio II (119:116), Biological Research Laboratory (119:117), and Anatomy & Physiology II are by special permission number (spn) only. We are hopeful that we will  be able to accomodate all students (with appropriate prerequisites) to enroll in these courses. However, to receive an spn, students are required to request one through the  "Summer Session Wait list/ SPN Requests"  link below. Students will be added to the courses in the order in which they signed up.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.

Summer and  Winter Session Course Policy for Biological Sciences majors:  

Summer Session courses shorter than 5 weeks  and Winter Session courses of two or more credits do not count toward the Biological Sciences major or minor. We strongly encourage students to meet with an advisor before registering for any online, summer, or winter session course!
